Born Darron Wallace, RuOnTheBeat had a passion for music at a young age.  The nickname "RU" which Stands for "Respected And UnDefeated'' was acquired in High school.  He began making beats when he was only 8 years old on Fruity Loops (now FL Studio). He initially focused on mastering drum patterns because he didn’t understand melodies.  After school he tried joining the “real world” but the workforce wasn’t for him. After about a year, he decided to focus on making music professionally.

 

His personal drive plateaued after months of practicing and learning. He stepped out of his comfort zone & began reaching out to people for support.  While making beats any & everywhere he went people began to take notice.  His networking brought him closer to more industry people, artists & producers. Those relationships helped Ru improve on his sound & start selling beats.  He’s a constant student and learns from everyone he can to get better.

 

Today he’s made a name on the local scene and building with artists & producers nationally by traveling to events like SXSW. Each new experience has helped build his confidence and catalog.  In 2019, he started The Beat Martians. The company will ultimately grow into an outlet for other budding producers to learn & succeed in the same way so many assisted Ru in the beginning.
